General Information
LITE is RIGHT. Ever wanted to ditch the old clunker for something so light, you'd swear your wheels weren't even touching the ground? Enter the new generation "Lite" Friday, the Crusoe - so named to reflect its positioning as the ultimate elite utility bike.

First Class Ride: Robinson never had it this easy: starting at just 16lbs*, the super responsive Crusoe can best be described as "snappy and agile" - like an extension of your hands and feet. The frame, based on the ultralight Pocket Rocket Pro tubing, comes standard with flat mountain bike bars, 9 speeds, and takes tires up to 1.5" (406). When you jump on it, it says let's go!

First Class Travel: Like all Bike Fridays, the Crusoe folds compactly in less than 30 seconds for easy transport by car, taxi, bus, train, boat or even light plane. With minimal disassembly, it packs into an optional hardshell suitcase. Add an optional trailer kit, and you can tow your gear in the suitcase to and from your destination. It started out life as an elite commuter for a light weight bicycle fanatic. For someone who wants to do sport riding or light touring it's perfect - throw a rack and panniers on the back, or pull the suitcase with all your goodies. And since the Crusoe is so light, moving it about in or out of its case is even lighter work than our famous New World Tourist.

Built Just For You: Your Crusoe is custom built, right down to the engraved brass nameplate. The models range from an affordable, 20lb* model with standard quality componentry all the way to the lightest Crusoe Elite boasting de-lites like a carbon fibre seatpost and DuraAce/Ultegra components. Of course there's 9,18 and 27 speed models, with or without the famous SRAM DualDrive hub, and Rohloff 14-speed hub versions too - it depends on how many mountains you intend to conquer. (If you want drop bars and STI, the Pocket Rocket Pro is probably more your speed - we make minimalist versions of that bike too, starting at 19 lbs*).
