The Bike Friday Road and Sport Tandem Traveler frames are based on the same technology as the Family Tandem Traveler, but the differences are more profound than the similarities.

These tandem bikes are crafted from larger diameter, thinner-walled, butted tubing in combinations of Cro-moly, Aluminum and Titanium. They are pounds lighter, stronger, stiffer and livelier than their simpler cousin. Amazingly, for instance, with a full set of Dura Ace components, the XL TiLite Road Traveler weighs in at about 26 lbs. (11.8kg)! (You add your saddles and pedals for a finished weight well under 30Lbs!) Light by any measure, but for a bike that can be disassembled and packed in a pair of suitcases, it's a veritable feather!

The Bike Friday Road Tandem Bike features more than light weight. Its 451mm wheels are perfectly adapted to narrow, high-pressure road clinchers for lightning quick acceleration and cat-like handling.
