NJ - Central Jersey Chapter

Calling all Bike Friday owners and friends around Metuchen and beyond! Yes, traffic is intense in this part of the world, but that doesn't stop over 700 members of the Central Jersey Bicycle Club from getting together and riding regularly.

Most Bike Friday Club of Central Jersey rides will be piggy-backed (or should I say pillion-passengered? That ain't quite right either ...) on the back of the CJBC rides. We'll convert all those big wheelers yet!

The club has a membership of about 1000 with riders of all riding levels and persuasions.

The Bike Friday contingent will be doing mostly flat to rolling hills averaging 12-14 mph but slower riders will of course be accommodated - no one left behind!

During the (brrrr) winter, rides will be between 25 and 30 miles, probably without an official food stop, but if anyone is hungry or needs a bathroom, no problem!

Rides are for enjoyment, not speed.

Dave provided a heroic dose of hospitality midway through the trip by meeting and escorting the travellers on his Air Friday in pouring rain to his home where warm beds and hot showers were available, and by shuttling their travel trailers 45 miles to the next day's destination. This gave Ben and Joe a much-needed break from towing their trailers over the rolling hills of the Delaware and Hudson River watersheds of southern New York State and northern New Jersey."
